Traditions & Discoveries

today's the new student conference. and i've just found out tones of traditions and cultures that Aggies are keeping  up till today:

1. Aggie ring: you can only get that once you've achieved 90 credit hours. and for transfer students, once you've taken 45 credits here. what's an Aggie ring? a symbolwhich represents values every Aggie should hold:  Excellence, Integrity,Leadership, Loyalty, Respect and Selfless Service.and it's one of the most treasured items an Aggie possesses.

2. The man of luck: he has a name but i've forgotten it. i think it's a figure of one of our ex-president of TAMU. the tradition is that you put a penny at his feet and he'll give you luck for exams. so, during finals period, you'll see lotsa penny/dollars there, there are cases where people put credit cards as well. fuh~this people reaaaly stick to their tradition. o.o

3. Aggies yell: there are different yells for different year you're in. so, since i'm in a junior year, my yell will be like "A,A, A, Whoots!" with different hand symbols too.
4. corps cadet: well, this is like a uniform body that you'd join out of your own freewill. there are a lot of disciplinary rules to follow but surprisingly, there are still plenty who will join. they sleep at special buildings, have their dinners together in a separate building, have to wear uniform to class EVERYDAY, have to cut their hair one-inch short (you can grow longer hair according to the year you're in. e.g. senior year can have more freedom:can have a bit longer hair)

5. the forever and ever tree: haha, it's a bit far, notice the bend-down tree? there's a lane below the tree and according to the customs, if you walk there with your partner, then both of you will be together forever. but if you walk there alone, you'll be alone forever. *gulps*
and there's this story that a guy waited for his gf to get the Aggie ring and on the day she managed to obtain that ring, she was too excited. meanwhile, the guy brought her to that forever and ever path and proposed to her there. she got too excited and passed out. when she woke up in the hospital, she had memory loss and couldn't remember a single thing. o.O haha. traditions & stories x)

hmm, alright, come back to some of my discoveries! :D

there is MILO in Texas, college station. no worries (haha, though i don't go for Milo)

basically, there's this BCS Asian supermarket to get whatever you want.

went for Chinese buffet dinner! yummy~
tried Chillis and Freebird too(a type of wrap, texan food)

and my first cooked meal. not bad. though the rice a bit hard (mayb i've to put in more water)

oh ya, and my before and after of my room (bangga^^)
