Smart Faith?

We had a deep discussion on ICF just now about having Smart Faith instead of Blind Faith.
about how many knowledge and theories found were actually parallel to the bible beliefs, but scientists tried to put God out of the picture to the extent of saying Aliens created all that exist. Who created Aliens then?

Well, it's kinda deep. i mean it can go deeper but time and situation don't allow it.

I have a lot of thoughts in my mind. in fact i actually asked the professor who shared "How about childlike faith?" All it takes is just one sentence from him,(he quoted from someone but i forgot who was that)
he said, "we should have a childlike faith, with an adult mind"

thoughts running through my mind.
I have been really interested to find out more. but i am always having a combination of being curious yet afraid.
I am afraid that What If? What if in the process of finding out, I found more logical explanation for the other way. i'm very comfortable with what i'm believing right now and in fact i don't want myself to walk out of this faith that i'm believing. But i'm afraid.... that the process of finding out the truth might lead me in the other way.
and thinking and rationalizing more just make me tired and prefer saying "I'll just stick with my childlike faith. well, i know God exists, He exists to me. well, that's enough"

But what i learnt today is that IT'S NOT ENOUGH!
don't believe in a blind faith. why are you believing it?
faith= trusting the reasons which you are believing in
is there even a reason for my belief?
How can you explain your faith when people question it? when people throw you some Questions about Christianity and God?
well, i know that has always been my weak point. i have never been able to rationalize and give facts about those questions.
what i did best was to ask them to try it out. it's personal experience i say.
but.

*silence*
i really need to find out more about my beliefs.
that's what Smart Faith is about.

  1. if you don't know exactly what you're believing in, why should anyone else believe?

  2. I like the word "Faith with Conscience", I think it better describes "Smart Faith". I like apologetics as well as mental acrobatics (it's not like you don't know, hohoho). Do not hesitate to throw questions into the 65JCYF family discussion pool. ^^

  3. Amen Hamster!

Looks like you've started to unlock these bits of important things which you have hidden under the carpet for quite some time. Don't be afraid and continue to keep discovering about God. As your knowledge and understanding grows on areas outside your comfort zone, your faith will become stronger as it entrenches itself in strong foundations.

God never ceases to amaze me and I find the Bible to be the richest source of reason itself. Read it in such a way that will raise your faith level higher and be proactive in challenging the doubts that you have. The process of facing up to your doubts and knowing God in an intimate way will convict your heart even more about the Gospel rather than steering you away because it has always been the ultimate truth! Just take that leap of faith and God will catch you :)

Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him
