Counting Blessings

A recap of what I've learnt for this semester.

1. 'God helps those who help themselves'?

Pride! unwilling to admit own's helplessness to God.
'God helps those who acknowledge their helplessness', 'God helps those who turn to Him'.

2. Not submitting is not trusting God that He will take care of it when you submit to your authority.

3. Make sure you marry a teachable man.

4. All that I am, all that I have, is from God and God alone. What is there to compare to? what is there to boast about? What is there to have doubt upon? It's ALL His.

5. learn to hurt people's feelings for good. sometimes, we have to hurt, fight, and challenge, to grow.

6. Do you pray for boldness and strategic opportunities? (even when it comes to something that you don't really choose to do?)
You can't get to courage if you don't go pass through Fear.

7. “you are worried and upset about many things, ⁴² but few things are needed—or indeed only one.^[f] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”Luke 10:41b-42

8.A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy.

Jesus speaks straight to the deepest heart's desire.
What will he say to you if you're the one who ask "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

9.For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, "He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness." 1 Cor 3:19

10." For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain" Phil1:21
Honestly, Are you able to truthfully say that?

11. What does your life tell about you?

12. rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature^[a] of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Phil2:7-8

Jesus made himself nothing. who are you to think that yourself is better?

13. Do you feel much loved by God:
a)because he make much of you, OR
b) at his great cost, the sacrifice of His son allow you to enjoy much of Him?

(in simple terms) Do you love God:
a)because He provides, He completes you, He maximize your ability, believing in Him can get you to heaven OR
b) because He is God and you just love Him
is it all about you OR all about God?

14. Be united, not divided, it's God's work, not ours.

15. Judge nothing before the appointed time, wait till the Lord comes.

17. Do NOTHING out of selfish ambition..." Phil2:3
Nothing? Really? Can I do it?

18. you can hardly hear the name "Jesus" popping out of a conversation (either among Christians or non-Christians)
"Oh ya, Rachel, she is very religious, i think she goes to church often. 'Jesus'? No, I don't think i've heard her talking about 'Jesus'."

19。 活着就是基督。
活着不是为了服侍主或服侍人，活着的不是我， 是基督在我里面。
