"Identity in me" Christ says.

I have learnt a lot from the Masterpiece conference that I've just went. A conference for college women, a ministry of Breakaway.
I can write a whole essay on this but, for now, maybe I'd just share a lil that had sunk deeply in me.

All of us have baggage:
#1 sinful nature
'pride is the root of all sin'
#2 unhealed wounds
ladies walking around with a sign 'Beware! wounded!'

'Comparison is the thief of joy' C.S.Lewis
We tend to compete over the thing that we find our identity in.

we have a lot of desires. evil desires
13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. James 1:13, 14

Desires we seek to be fulfilled in a worldly friendship:
some girls have the desire to be needed. always feel good when they are needed by their friends. and placing their identities in it.
Some, the desire to belong. to feel like they're accepted in a group. and if they're not, they felt like they've lost their identities.
Some, the desire to fix, the compulsion of helping their friends to fix their problems.
(and lots more)...
we befriend people who doesn't pose a threat to us.

So how to we switch from a worldly friendship into a Godly friendship?
ask the Q "How do we get more of Jesus out of this relationship?"
To exalt each other, to gain Christ. Colossians 3:1-17

(break out session: He said, She said)
Imagine you are running a race, God is at the end point waiting for you. you would be running single-mindedly towards Christ and as time goes by, who knows, you see someone running alongside with you, a man of God; and this is the man whom you'd wanna run the rest of the race with because he's running as fast as you do.
You don't want to look back and see the man running behind you and try to drag him along. Not only it will slow you down, but he doesn't wanna be dragged either.

She said "I love Jesus. and I want to find a person who is sharing my love for Jesus. A person who is loving God That much!"

few points to note:
1. go ahead and have these fully satisfied, free of distraction single years of service to God.

2. Stress on CLARITY. subtracting guessing game can subtract a lot of distraction and wastage of time that you can actually use in focusing on God's work

3. He is Not your accountability partner. Grow in Christ on your own. Don't try to mingle your quiet time together if you're not ready to get married within the next 6 months.

4. Use this time to just
fall in love with Jesus <3

A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her. -Max Lucado

(break out session: Truth)
1. Catch yourself when negative thoughts come into your mind.
Take that thought captive
Make your thoughts captived under Christ
Ask him to identify yourself
"what's going on? why am I feeling sad and lonely and jealous?"

2. The enemy wants to destroy you! destroy your soul! the enemy will forge a weapon specifically against you and your life.
But Isaiah 54:17a "no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you."

3. We have to put off before we put on.
take those weeds and gross things out before you start planting flowers in the soil

4.sometimes we will be battling with something for a looooooong time
but Blessings will come in the battle you are Still fighting.

5. How is God using the trajectory of your story for the sake of others?

  1. Accountability Partner. Heh!

I like this "Imagine you are running a race, God is at the end point waiting for you. you would be running single-mindedly towards Christ and as time goes by, who knows, you see someone running alongside with you, a man of God; and this is the man whom you'd wanna run the rest of the race with because he's running as fast as you do."
