Aggie ring

Image
It's ring day yesterday! and Yes! It's finally my turn :D One word- BLESSED! I feel that I'm so blessed with wonderful friends around, opportunity to come to Texas A&M and get my degree here, great Godly mentors to learn from, fun, true and sincere Christian fellowship to be in and serve in... (and the list goes on forever) Just to clarify,  aggie ring is a symbol that I am a Texas A&M University student/graduate. I have to earn it by finishing up certain credit hours and nope, it doesn't come free, I bought it! It ain't cheap either.  Ever since I came here and found out about this tradition, I have been thinking if i should get one. But the cost of it made me doubt big time.  What more can I say now? God blessed me with a job that I love, and I thought 'Yea, I guess I can afford this now! and Yes, I want this to be a permanent memory of my time here.' So there I go, registered for a slot, try out different sizes and styl...

Summer wrap-ups

Image
This Summer has been good. I'm glad I stayed back in College Station.  some things that I've managed to do when I'm here: 1) found a job that I love (Library front-desk) 2) get involved in Physics research (knocked down 1 credit-hr and get paid) 3) head-start & be involved in a ladies bible study 4) attend my friends' wedding 5) spend more time with the kids in Sunday school  (whom I'm pretty sure I'll miss dearly when I leave) 6) met some awesome new friends  7) visit the Blue Bell ice cream factory with fellow ICF-ers and get a free scoop! 8) baked some awesomeness for the first time! 9) Oh! and I got an A for my programming class!!  (so happy! really thank God for this one Chinese friend whom I've met and is wonderful in programming and this TA who is so nice and patient with me) 10) revisited Jay Chou's old songs I think this song of Jay Chou is pretty awesome (both song+music video) 周杰伦 - 雨下一整晚 http://www.y...

Summery Summer

Image
I paid for my ring and WOLA! I'm getting it on the 14th of September! :D Took me quite some time to decide whether to get the pure gold or antique.  The pure ring definitely look more feminine and classy on a lady's hand.  But antique makes the design and carving stands out. That, is one of the main reasons why I wanna buy my ring- as a symbol of memories, of what Texas A&M University means to me. So, I decided that I want to be able to see the carvings and tell my kids of what it meant to be an Aggie :) Antique it is! A calender to keep track of my days till D'Day! _________________________________________ Meanwhile, today... Roommie asked "I'm going to play badminton sometime this week. Do you wanna join?" "Yea sure. But I'm not good though." I replied in a matter-of-fact tone. "What??" she was totally surprised.  "You're not!?" I sort of knew where she was going with the q...

Updates

Let's see where I left out from... Hmm, since April, 1. I got back my Spring semester results. Meh. Not satisfying but not surprising either. Will try harder/smarter next time around 2. Went to Florida and came back. Met my dear friend and her friends (mostly Malaysians!) and for the longest time since I came here, I feel that I'm interacting with real bunch of Malaysians again. I miss that interaction when you can just say anything, in any language, in anyway, without trying too hard to explain yourself and you just CLICK! how I've forgotten about that. and now I miss it. 3. Currently loving my job. Working in the library frontdesk. How else more satisfying can a job be? check out my library's facebook (psst: i'm featured in the <3 Evans Library & Annex video :P ) https://www.facebook.com/EvansLibraryandAnnex 4. Currently working on a physics research. oh Wow! yes, I am surprised myself. Not very fond in research from the beginning. But w...

Titanic

Image
Whoosh! Just came back from watching Titanic in 3D+XD+RealD sounds like a real deal right!? haha. but actually not much of a difference other than bigger screen and more comfortable seat, and definitely more expensive tickets! Thoughts after movie: It's a lil depressing I expected it to be sad and maybe might make me cry, hmm, but not really. well, i was sad, but not that sad until i'll sob, you know :I and now I feel like doing some real research on the movie Oh my gosh! I am now in wikipedia and just realized that today Apr 15, 2012 is the 100th anniversary of RMS Titanic's sinking date: Apr 15, 1912 Dang! I really did choose a good date to watch it! :P Out of 2223 people, 1514 of them died. there weren't enough life boats of the ship (due to non-updated maritime safety regulation rules) and the ship is myth-ed to be unsinkable. Now, that I'm finally satisfied. I should go grab my dinner and start studying for tmr's physics test! Oh, and I recommend ya'll ...

Aloha

Aloha! Can't believe it's almost the end of the semester. Counting down...1, 2, 3 more weeks! 3 more weeks till finals and then I'm Done!! I am a'Junior, going to be a'Senior! *sings with the tune "16 going on 17"* Whoop! It's funny how optimistic I can be though I just walked out of a deadly exam hall an hour ago. turned in some deadly exam sheets and pray hard that I will pass the course :/ I am actually not sad. just don't know what to feel anymore. Numb. will be the word. well, let's not dwell in the past. Alright! so after this semester, i have 2 more to go and then Ta~Daa! I'll be a graduating senior! :D can't believe all this is happening like the speed of light ! (see how Physics affects my brain) The road in front is so uncertain that sometimes I think, maybe i'll consider staying back in US for Masters. just maybe.. Alright, let's talk about Summer! I've decided to stay back and take some computing classes (to help...

pocket burnt

Image
look at how small the bottle is, compared to a quarter Does the elongated blue top reminds you of something?? Perhaps...... These 2 little bottles burnt a mega hole in my pocket the small bottle of eye-drop costs $139.99 the Simpson's mom bottle costs $152.99 without taking into account Claritin Allergy pills which costs $10+ I'm already broke. What's good about it is that after purchasing my medicine, I just went window-shopping without spending a single cent in Old Navy. So proud of myself huh! (simply because i'm broke) Oh, and I definitely wanna thank my roommate for being such a kind soul!! She brought me to the clinic, pharmacy (several times), HEB and Old Navy (heh!) can't ask for more.
